Personal Note From Team Captain...

"I don't think of my birthday as being another year older. I think of it as another year of having enjoyed with friends and teammates like you guys. Love WESTLANDERS UNITED!"

According to my wishes last year, (http://fcwestlanders.blogspot.com/2009/05/special-note-from-westlanders-captain.html), I wanted Westlanders United to stick together and bring ths team up. I am overwhelmed by the response. We have build-up this team up to a successful 4th year.

The pioneers should know how much we went through to bring this team to this level. I have been playing here from 16 and this Sunday[30th May] I'm turning 20.

I am another year older, wiser, and more grateful to this team.

Many have came and left the team but we now have kept a steady and committed number of players whom are the heart of the team. We are entering another phase in Westlanders United; whereby we have more experienced players coming to our team. We started off as a naive, young and inexperienced team but now we are all maturing together with team. The team is also growing old and in-depth of experience like us.

There might be millions of variations in the type of obstacles; our goal is to overcome them. Simple.

This year, my wish is us to work together.Whenever, there is a problem, think how would your solution solve the problem and do well to the team. Put the team before you. No individuals make this team up. WE make the team up.

There is no "I" in "TEAMWORK”. Coming together, sharing together, working together, and succeeding together. The strength of the team is each individual member and the strength of each member is the team.

This season's results relies on us...OLE! OLE! OLE! NADODIGALS!

Game Review (Silver Titans Football Club)

Westlanders United 3:3 Silver Titans Football Club
Goals: Vijay 25' 60', Mohan 90'
Assists: Reshi, Ryan, Sasi

Man of the match: Sasi: At the heart of Westlanders United's best creative moments.

Goal of the Match: Mohan: After receiving a through pass from Sasi,he made a swift turn with the ball and calmly placed it to the keeper's bottom left in the last minute.

Team appreciation: After the controversial team talk, the players played to the full capacity with good passes and most importantly without any unhappiness or foul language among us. Bravo!

Move of the match:Coach's decision to play Mohan in the last 10 minutes was a hit.

Talking point: We could see the big improving diffrence in our gameplay, could we go all the way in league with the same performance?

Even though,we drew our first game, performance and gameplay wise we have made a good start. This is the start and our aim this season is to give a good fight to all the teams in our league and play to our full strength.

Hip Hip Hurrey!See you all in the next game...
