Game review and Informations

Westlanders United 4:0 Red Wings Fc

Goals: Sathya 7,Reshi 15,Murukesh 25,Sathya 80.

Assists: Jagan, Prakash, Sathya, Kishore.

Man of Match: Fazlan. The on-form goalie was in a fantastic performance.

Inspiration of the game: Prakash and Navin were the midfield generals in this game.

Save of the match: Fazlan made good saves all over the game to undermine the opponents.

Talking point: The 2nd half was controlled by the opponents who failed to seize their chances.Could we have prevented that?

Goal of the game: Jagan passed a through ball to Sathya by the flank who then squared a ball in to Sasi;but missed to take a shot. Murukesh cut in to the centre of the field and took a shot outside the box, whereby the ball ended up being at the left top hand corner.

All in all, good game for Westlanders who were starving for a victory to push our almost empty morale level. This booster came in handy to revitalise and reenergise the team back to its form. The key to victory in upcoming games will be consistency and hunger for glory. We showed, we are a tough nut to crack to Team Buffaloes and we have done it again. We have to do this type of performance week in and out. Team spirit guys! Keep your chins up...

Team news

Date: 24-January-2010

Time: 10:00 (Be at field)
Pitch: Dunearn Sec School
Note:Black shorts,White socks and Bring Team fund accordingly

With Westlanders United’s FA Cup dreams already dashed for the first year, their focus will be solely on league accomplishments this weekend.

Three points against the Red Wings at Dunearn, would be enough to lift Sam's side to the motivation they need just like Liverpool.

Question marks may have been raised against us this season, following some poor showings, but we are still not ready to give up on our efforts and ready to push till the end.

Westlanders, for all the talk of striking problems, have actually scored in games but are guilty of conceding too much.

The challenge facing Red Wings appears to be a daunting one, with the experienced opponents gearing up to polish up their season too.

Westlanders United's woes have eased considerably of late, but they did suffer another blow earlier this week with the news that the Hasnol brothers is set to miss the game and Mat Noor is still busy with his recuperation.

On a more positive note for the Rising Stars, Ryan is expected to be back into contention this weekend after his absence in the previous game.

Possible squad:
Westlanders United: Kishore,Fazlan,Arjun,Ravi,Satiesh,Jagan,Sara,Siddharth,Sathya,Murukesh,Sasi,Navin,Ryan,Shoffian,Reshi,Anandraj,Shahran,Umar,Prabha

Team News:

Westlanders, meanwhile, are expected to ring the changes from the team that fell victim to Sinthai Fc last weekend. An embarrassing defeat that must ring the wakeup call for each and every Westlandrian to show some attitude and football in the field

With first-choice centre-back partners Jagan and Ravi away from their usual positions, Coach Sam may make multiple changes to his defense.

Wingers Sathya and Ryan are expected to break through the defense this time round. Midfield duo Murukesh and Sasi remains to be seen rather off form. Reshi might be given another chance to prove his worth alongside the ever-changing striker force. The likes of Umar, Prabha, Jagan, Ravi, and Prakash are still inadequate as Westlanders are in search of a complete striker.

Mat noor have yet to step up from his rehabilitation from tattoo removal. First-choice shot-stopper Fazlan, who rather made an unsatisfactory performance, will be placed between the posts unless Kishore is ready to move on from his cynical play style.

Sara who made his debut last weekend needs to brush up his fitness before he would be given the starting booth. The Hasnol brothers are also not confirmed in their starting places due to lack of experience.

Navin is ready to start in the usual position while the newcomers may also be given a test-run.

Westlanders United look to end their winless streak which overall adds up to 4 games. The Rising Stars final victory was against Temasak Royals.
