As you can see, our team has almost become inactive due to the fact that our players are not showing enough commitment.Today; our team reaches its 3rd year anniversary under Coach Sam.
On these very day, 15th Nov 06, our team started off with 26 players beating various teams from the West. We were well known for our competitiveness and zest. Today is the day where we are supposed to share our greatest memories with the team about our team. Unfortunately, the opposite just happened.
We are only left with 10 players. Out of the 10 only 3 excluding Coach has been with the team since the beginning.
A big salute to these players who have made the week in and out; even though the attendance had barely reached a total of 13 players. These players are the ones who made Westlanders.
Although, we were disappointed with the others, we still made it to training even though it was held about 16-17 stations away from Jurong. We made it there even though Coach scolded us unfairly and unduly because of the rest. We made it there even though we knew Mondays were schooldays. We made it there even though we knew we will lose our good 8hrs sleep.
We made sacrifices. All the 10 of us went through shit to come trainings. One of our players discarded his India trip with family for the sake of our tournament. Our Coach loses his job to conduct trainings. Why?!
Because we loved the team and football. That passion will not change from or after today.
We are going to stand together in this tough time like how we did in the past.Westlanders could not continue its venture in ESPZEN league because our squad does not have the minimum amount of players.
Fellow Westlanders (those who still stand), as your Captain and a friend I am announcing to you that Westlanders is going through the stage of re-building the entire team from scratch. Few has emailed me regarding the cancellation of training for the past few weeks. This is the reason, the past 2 weeks only us were willing to come training. The rest as you know ignored the team messages. I called/emailed/blog/msn/smsed them all in various way. The same answer came on a Saturday night 9hrs before training upon us contacting them that they have something on.
Because of this Coach has been deeply hurt. He planned a lot for our anniversary today. But all his dreams were shattered. He has not answered his call to anyone in the past 2 weeks.
I am sure that Westlanders will not end today. But in this unusual time I am urging the 10 of us, the last men standing to stay close and re-build Westlanders back to its glorious times. We have to be patient and move step by step to achieve what we want.
Westlanders turn 3 today and we will be with it till it turns a hundred. We are not just an ordinary team, we are a big family.
Life has it's circle. We will get players whom are more crazy with soccer and more obsessed with soccer.
Westlanderians gear up to revive this team…
This is the beginning!
